Gynecomastia; It can be described as the growth of male breast tissue. It is also sometimes called an enlargement of glandular breast tissue. In men with female-type breast enlargement (gynecomastia), excess fat and breast tissues are removed by vacuuming with the liposuction method, and sometimes in cases where liposuction is insufficient, excess tissues are removed from the breast with a surgical incision from the nipple edge. Gynecomastia surgery is an operation that can take 1 or 2 hours under general anesthesia.
In cases where only liposuction is performed, scars are smaller than 1 cm. Sometimes there may be a half-moon-shaped line mark on the nipple edge. However, it may be necessary to perform mammoplasty in patients with large breast tissue. It may be required to remove the excess skin and bring the nipple to its old and appropriate place. In such cases, the scar may be too much and vary according to the case. More information can be given after the inspection.
The patient can go home on the evening of the surgery. After a few days, the dressing is changed, and it is okay to bathe in the following days. Patients are generally recommended to use a corset for two months. After this surgery, much pain is not expected. Pain can be relieved with painkillers.
After surgery, breast enlargement can be seen again in some people, especially with hormonal problems; this is uncommon.
